פְּרוֹטְרוֹטm. (פָּרַט) units, odd sum, detail number. Midr. Till. to Ps. 23 המשה עשר אלף ופ׳ fifteen thousand and an odd sum (less than one thousand); (read:) וכמה הוא פ׳ שבע מאות ושמונים ותשע and how much was that odd sum (over fifteen thousand)? Seven hundred and eighty-nine. Y.Taan.IV, end, 64c היו מוצאין עצמן … ופ׳ (not עצמו) they found that they had lost upwards of fifteen thousand; Midr. Sam. ch. XXXII, end ט״ו אלף בפ׳ (corr. acc.); Lam. R. introd. (R. Zʿera) (corr. acc.). Y.Naz.V, beg.53d; Y.Shek.II, 46c, sq. במכנס פ׳ (not פרוטרות) when he piles up the coins one by one. Bekh.5a לא מנאן הכתיב אלא בפ׳ the Scripture counts them only by single Manehs (not by Kikkars); Y.Snh.I, end, 19d ואתעביד ליה פ׳ it is counted by single Manehs. Tosef.B. Mets. IV, 17 if he says, היאך מנה ואינו יכיל לעמוד על הפ׳ ‘here is a Maneh for thee (as thy share in the profits), but is unable to give a detailed account; Y. ib. V, 10b שאינו … כפ׳ (corr. acc.). Tosef.Maas. Sh. II, 10 אלא אם כן יש עמו פראטרוט ed. Zuck. (Var. פרוטרט; corr. acc.) unless he has with him an itemized account (of the ready money and of the value of the products).
